Health Connection
Health Connection and Watertown Memorial Hospital have developed
an American Diabetes Association recognized education program
that teaches you how to “take control” of your diabetes and
live the life you want to live. With the help of certified instructors,
you will develop a long-term plan to keep you active. This is a reimbursable
service by insurances and Medicare.

Health Connection
Consultations are available on an outpatient basis with a
physician’s order and are covered under some insurance plans. Anyone
requiring a special diet will find the hospital’s dietician partners
readily available to answer questions concerning your dietary
requirements.
Home Health/Supportive Care – 920.262.4262
Watertown Memorial Hospital
Nursing, social services, speech/physical/occupational therapies
are provided by Home Health care professionals in familiar
surroundings – the
patient’s home. These Services extend into
a 20-mile radius and are available seven days a week. Home
Health services require a physician’s order and are usually covered
by insurance. WMH Home Health is Medicare and Medicaid licensed.
In addition, supportive care providers perform light housekeeping,
assist with meal preparation, provide companionship and private
duty bathing and will run errands. These services do not
require a physician order and are not usually covered by insurance. Services
are available both day and evening hours.

In the ICU, experienced and skilled registered nurses use
lifesaving medical equipment to care for critically ill patients who
need specialized observation. All ICU nurses are certified in Advance
Cardiac Life Support.

Kidney dialysis is available at the Watertown Dialysis Center
as a convenient option for local residents who need this lifesaving treatment.

All lab technicians and technologists are certified by the
American Society of Clinical Pathologists and provide accurate, reliable
test results on up-to-date instrumentation 24 hours per day. Lab services
extend into physician offices and area industry. Outpatient services,
i.e. cholesterol screenings, are available Monday through Friday from
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to noon. There is
a nominal cost and appointments should be made with centralized scheduling
at 920.262.4298.

Memorial Hospital’s Pain Management Center can help individuals
learn to manage their pain and improve their quality of life.
Whether short-lived or ongoing, pain from injury or disease such as cancer
disrupts the lives of those it affects. Our team approach to pain management
helps patients better manage and cope with the pain they experience.

services to
patients by registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians,
is an integral support service in our pharmacy department.
Pharmacists work on the patient floors so as to follow patients’ therapy
closely.
Preadmission Testing – 920.262.4351

Preoperative procedures and teaching will help prepare patients
and families for surgery and recuperation. This process helps decrease
patient and family anxiety about unfamiliar procedures. All surgical
patients requiring any type of anesthesia will have preadmission testing
prior to their surgery. This includes admission assessments, lab tests,
cardiac work-up and x-rays. If needed, physical and occupational therapy
instructions also are given.
